Notes
The Crown and Eagle Mills were constructed by Robert Rogerson early in Uxbridge's history. The Crown Mill was built in 1825, the Eagle Mill in 1830 and a connecting brick structure in 1851. Rogerson spent a great deal of money on the construction of the mills using finely finished granite blocks for the two mill buildings and landscaping the surrounding area. The mills were in a remarkably preserved state, maintained by the widow of the last owner until she died in her 90s. The machinery and full workshops still remained intact. However, just prior to beginning a major renovation in 1975 the facility was destroyed by arson. The mills have sense been rebuilt to their external plan and provide senior housing.
