Notes
The Whitestone Bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann and incorporated a number of innovations designed to decrease costs and weight. These design features gave the bridge many similarities to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge leading to substantial reinforcement of the bridge during the 1940s. The bridge has a 2300 foot main span with 377 foot towers.
