The Cornwall iron mine located near Lebanon, Pennsylvania was originally prospected in 1732 with production from 1742 to 1973. The mines were associated with the Cornwall furnace.
The mine was owned by the Cornwall Ore Banks Company until approximately 1920 when it was acquired by Bethlehem Steel Company. Ore deposits are Magnetite replacement of Cambrian limestone.
