The Globe Yarn Mills consisted of three red brick mills for the purpose of manufacturing cotton yarns. The first mill was built in 1881, the second in 1885 and the third soon thereafter. The company would be acquired by New Bedford Cotton Yarn Co., then American Cotton Fabric Co., and lastly the Connecticut Co. In 1983, the mill was added to the National Historic Register.
