The Durfee Mills complex is the largest and most complete textile mill complex in Fall River, MA. The first building was built in 1866. This was followed by two more mills in 1871 and 1881. The cotton textile mills produced 23 million yards of cloth annually. Closed in 1935, the mills are now occupied by retail businesses and restaurants. Added to the National Historic Register in 1983.
