Located on Wyantskill Creek at the junction with the Hudson River. Founded in 1819 by John Brinkerhoff, later owned by Erastus Corning. The works ultimately consisted of nine major buildings, powered by water and steam. Manufactured nails and spikes, axles and plates, including plates for the hull of the Civil War battleship Monitor.
